GENERAL PSYCHIATRY

Trained in providing psychiatric treatment to adults age eighteen and older, Dr. Greene prescribes medication management and therapy for a broad range of mental issues. Major treatment areas include:

 

  • Mood Disorders, including Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder
  • Anxiety Disorders, including Panic Disorder, PTSD, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Psychotic illness, such as Schizophrenia and delusional symptoms related to Major Depression and Bipolar Disorder
  • Substance Use Disorders and issues related to these illnesses
  • Developmental Disabilities, and behavior challenges related to these issues
  • Behavior and mood changes of individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Dementia and other cognitive challenges among older adults

 

Issues separate from the illnesses listed may arise in life and create difficulty in functioning. Suffering from interpersonal problems is common, and Dr. Greene provides assistance with therapy related to these concerns.

 

Dr. Greene’s approach to treating each person he sees is comprehensive. Formulation of a treatment plan develops from thorough examination, laboratory testing, and consideration of available collateral information. Communication is an important component of implementing treatment and ensuring a beneficial response. Dr. Greene encourages patient participation in any decisions to be made during the treatment process.

 

Many therapists refer their clients to Dr. Greene when they feel treatment augmentation with medication management is necessary. Dr. Greene works well with these professionals, communicating frequently with them, and becoming an integral member in the individual’s treatment.
